Welcome to Technology
Invitational Summer Institute 2010 Participants!
My name is Kiietti Walker-Parker, and I am part of the technology liaison team for AAMU WP! I trust you have fun this upcoming summer and are challenged!
We will ask that you aim for ways to incorporate technology into your writing as well as to incorporate writing into the presentation aspects of technology! Sound confused? Don't be! We will be joyously confused together!
This sight will contain various technology offerings: E-Anthology, PhotoStory, Movie Maker, PowerPoint, Podcasting, Vodcasting, and a host of other things as we move forward in the 2010 year and beyond.
Here are some items you will need for this year's ISI:
1) flash drive
2) digital camera
3) portable video camera (optional)
4) photos that you might be interested in writing about - bring them hardcopy or softcopy
5) notebook that you will use to journal, write poetry, write essays, write little tidbits, etc. (referred to as the "idea notebook")
6) Begin thinking about public service announcements (PSAs) and national public radio ads (NPRs).
7) Take a look at your laptop and/or home computer, let me know what type of operating system and what version of Office you have.
8) Keep a lookout for more emails and additions/changes to this webpage!

E-Anthology
Each of you will be utilizing the NWP's E-Anthology daily throughout your time in the Invitational Summer Institute. The NWP E-Anthology is an online forum that invites invitational summer institute participants to publish their writing and reflections and to respond to the work of colleagues. This is an excellent resource! It is fun! It is constructive! And, it is a must!
Purpose The E-Anthology was developed with three main purposes:
Past participants have posted a wide variety of content— instructional resources, descriptions of their sites and institutes, comments about high-stakes testing, responses to readings, drafts of stories, original poetry, and much more.
After your work has gone through your own response writing groups, you will need to post your work on E-Anthology. The technology liaison team will be checking periodically for postings to encourage you and continue to monitor your progress this summer.
The site does not officially open until May 17th, but before then, this is what you can do:
Institute participants must first have their own NWPi accounts so that the e-facilitator can register them for the E-Anthology. Click on NWPi accounts above in bold to set up your individual account.
Other tools we will be introducing you to include:
